From its custom-designed hull to the revolutionary Pulse Drive propulsion system, the 42' Open Express from Ocean Tech Yachts provides versatility, performance and luxury. Boaters can enjoy fishing, diving and cruising from the deck of this innovative, offshore sport vessel.
The unique twin V-hull design with ventilated bottom gives the catamaran stability and speed, while increasing fuel efficiency. At a cruising speed of 35 mph, it uses only 14 gallons per hour per engine under diesel power. Its 25' deadrise allows for a comfortable ride when cruising in rough water, and the high-tech construction and state-of-theart laminates ensure strength and longevity.
The standard engine package, twin 320 hp Mercury 6.2 MPI Horizons, powers the 42' Open Express to an estimated 52 mph. With five other engine options available, boaters can choose the gas or diesel engines to fit their needs. Working in conjunction with the engines is the Pulse Drive Surface Drive System. Made of stainless steel, this trimmable drive allows shallow draft running capabilities and excellent reversing conditions. It also helps increase fuel efficiency, performance and speed.
In addition to its superior construction and performance, the boat features a 265-square-foot cockpit which offers a panoramic view from the helm station, making it ideal for active boaters. The forward cabin features a comfortable double berth and head. Its variety of amenities will please any boater. Optional features include a refrigerator, microwave, multidisc CD player with amplifier and a 15" TV/VCR combo or DVD player with surround sound. Anglers will appreciate the optional live baitwell with circulator and sink, leaning post and gunnel-mounted rod holders. Mounting plates are also available for installation of radar, lights and other electronic accessories.
