Entice more strikes by offering fish two morsels on one hook.
- Rig a soft-plastic bait on a jig head in the normal fashion;then cover
the hook point with a smaller lure such as a small plastic tail with a
two-inch body. I've enjoyed great success fishing this rig on grass flats
for redfish and under a cork for seatrout.
-
- This setup resembles a tiny baitfish hovering above a larger one, and
it fools wary fish because it requires very little motion to keep the tiny
tail wiggling - it can actually attract fish while the jig sits on the
bottom and minimal water movement makes the smaller tail quiver.
-
- Test various bait color combinations to find out which patterns really
work for your fishing area.
